We digitize and scan old photographs using professional techniques that result in high resolution JPG files. Quality checks take place throughout the photo scanning process to ensure your memories are properly digitized for long-term use.
Bulk Scans and Shoebox Scans
The most inexpensive method of scanning loose prints. These scans are suitable for viewing images on a computer and making smaller print sizes. Scans from photographic prints ranging in size from wallets to 8x10, in colour or B&W results in JPEG files at 300 dpi resolution, with low compression. All images are returned on a CD. Prints cannot be smaller than 2.5x3.5 inches, and cannot be mounted or on paper thicker than normal photographic paper. Images should also be free of dust, free of tears, tape, staples, and any other defect that can interfere with the scan.
Note: Prints are grouped by size prior to scanning making it very difficult to keep them in a specific order. For that reason we do not offer to keep prints in order with this service. If you have a large project and need prints taken out of albums (where possible) prior to bulk or shoebox scanning, we’d love to help.
Pro Scans from Film or Prints!
Pro Scans are for when you need to step it up. We scan Colour or B&W negatives, slides and prints. These RGB, 8 Bit, sRGB scans are processed with Digital Ice (colour only negative--Digital Ice does not work with B&W film or on prints) and dust busted in Photoshop. Each file is carefully optimized and saved to a CD.

We can scan or digitize anything. Prints, original artwork, drawings, canvas paintings, single pictures out of album pages or whole family album pages, scrapbook pages and basically anything flat that is not copyrighted. If what you have is too large to fit on our flatbed scanner (max 11x17 inches) we’ll digitize it with our oversized service.

Digital Copy Negative
If you need a copy of an original print up to 11x17 inches. We make and give you on CD a digital file of your image(s) and make prints of pretty much any size. If your original is larger than 11x17 or if you have delicate painting, artwork, images with highly reflective surfaces you can use the Digital Copy Negative Oversized.
Professional Copywork
For artwork or originals where very critical matching is required. Bring your original and we'll capture it digitally, make any colour management decisions required and provide you with a proof for your approval. The image can then be output to your specifications. This service is designed for originals such as paintings where colour fidelity in each tone is paramount as our experts painstakingly adjust each channel for optimum matching.
